Wilton Widner, age 78, of 3444 Hwy 421 North, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at his residence. He was born on October 3, 1926 in Washington County, Virginia to the late Thomas Jefferson Widner and Flora Bell Reedy Widner. In addition to his parents, Wilton was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Wilton retired from the Broyhill Furniture Company. He enjoyed playing the guitar and fishing. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Army and was a member of the Heath Union Church. Wilton is survived by his wife, Alice Widner of the home; one daughter, Connie Arnold and husband Jim of Mountain City, Tennessee; four sons: Cecil Widner and wife LuAnn of Woodbury, Minnesota; Tim Widner and wife Lisa, Wilton Widner Jr. and Thomas Widner, all of Mountain City, Tennessee; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Wilton Widner will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Homer Vanover and Mr. Mike Smith to officiate. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2005 from the Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews. Family, Pallbearers and Friends are asked to assemble at Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home by 10:30 a.m. on Friday, to go in procession to the Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to Services, at the Funeral Home Chapel. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 3444 Hwy 421 North, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683. A special "thank you" to the Johnson County Rescue Squad and to Dr. Michael Kimbro. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
