Winnie Pearl Shoun, age 70, of 119 Fairview Avenue, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2004 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a lengthy illness. A native of Johnson County, she was born on January 25, 1934 to the late Viola Dugger. In addition to her mother, Winnie was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde "Hard Rock" Shoun; one brother, Doag Dugger and one sister, Loretta Dugger. Winnie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by two daughters, Robin Lolas and Deborah Jean Shoun, both of Del Ray Beach, FL; six sons, Richard Dale Peters, George Juan Pagan Shoun, both of Elizabethton, TN, Daney Andrew Peters, Marion Malcom Bradford, both of Mountain City, TN, Monty Ray Peters of Jupiter, FL and Darrell Carmon Bradford of Hohenwald, TN; 26 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Winnie will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. prior to Services at the Funeral Home Chapel. At other times, friends may call at the residence 119 Fairview Avenue, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Caner Society or Johnson County Cancer Support Group, c/o Flo Bellamy, 3510 Hwy 421 N, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683 or The Diabetes Foundation, 1807 West Market Street, Johnson City, Tennessee 37601.
