Louella Greer Dowell, age 77, of 919 Medical Park Drive, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 atMountain City Care Center. She was born January 12, 1939 to the late Artrow Greer and Hollie Snyder Greer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Dowell, five brothers: J.D. Greer, Dean and Gene Greer, Ronnie Greer, and Ray Greer, and two sisters: Arzella Johnson, and Ancil Mahala, and twin infant sisters. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening, bowling, fishing and gospel music.
She is survived by: three daughters: Sandra OsborneLeonard and fiance Michael Pokorny, Susan Osborne Ladd, and Malena and husband Danny Jones, two sons: Joseph Osborne and Stephen “Ozzie” Osborne, one sister, Reba Salmons, seven grandchildren: Casie Leonard, Heather Roark, Ashley Neatherly, Brett Ladd, Alex Ladd, Travis Jones, and Chloe Jones, ten great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 10, 2016 at 8:00 p.m., from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapelof the HuxLipford Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Woods and Rev. Steven Spencer officiating. The family will receivefriends from 6-8pm prior to the service. Graveside service and interment will be at 10:00 am from Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Doug Mahala, Tim Mahala, Eric Hill, Douglas Yarber, Jeff Cornett, and Rick Cornett. Honorarypallbearers are: Buck Salmons, Gary Mahala, William “Bo” Roark, Jack Pennington, Gary “Speedy” Leonard, Dr. John Whitlock,Daniel Jones, and Larry Greer.
In lieu of flowers donation can be made to The American Heart Association or Johnson County Rescue Squad.
At other times friends may call the residence of her daughter, Malena, at 320 Oak Hills Lane, Mountain City, TN 37683.

Hunter Jackson Harper, “Jack”, was born at Indian Path Medical Center on September 28, 2016 at 5:50 a.m., and left footprints on our hearts at the same time as his birth. He weighed 7 ounces and was 8 inches long.
Jack is survived by his parents: Austin Harper and Brandy Campbell, a sister, Serinity Harper, grandparents, Junior and Carol Harper and Travis and Michelle McCloud, great grandparents: Arlie Hodge, Louise Harper, Tommy Campbell, and KathyWoodard, great grandmother, Dora Adams, special great great uncle and aunt Earnest and Peg Roberts, aunts and uncles: Danieland Savannah Harper and Dalton and Tanya McCloud, and cousins: Cain, Clairah, Jordyn, and Zane and many more.
He was predeceased by his great grandmother, June Dale Hodge, great grandfather, Leo Harper, cousin, William Chance Hopkins, and is playing in Heaven with his cousins Mandi, Joann, and Nathaniel.
Graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Harvey White officiating.
